- Member firms of the stock exchange must be publicly owned they must maintain capital adequacy requirements, and key personnel must complete required courses of study.

- Exchanges are financed by transaction fees, initial listing fees, sustaining listing fees, fees paid by companies with respect to capital structure changes and through the sales of historic and market information.
